MARLOTH PARK HONORARY RANGERS TIPS FOR PROPERTY OWNERS

We call on all home owners of Marloth Park to help us conserve Marloth Park and adhere to its by-laws.One of the things we suggest is that each home owner put a list of general information in prominent view in their houses for their guests, family and friends to read. Here are a few points:

It is not permitted to pick up or remove in any way any wood from the property. Ensure you have bought wood or charcoal for your braai.

Ensure braai fires are extinguished after use in order to prevent veld fires from occurring.

3 Do not litter. Remember, discarded cigarette butts also fall into this category!

4 No pets of any kind are permitted in Marloth Park, which is a declared conservancy.

5 No animals, snakes & spidersetc. may be removed from Marloth Park.

No trees are allowed to be cut down without permission from the Conservation officer

The animals of Marloth Park may appear to be more approachable than those in the Kruger Park, but they are still wild and potentially dangerous.  Feeding animals, such as kudu, zebra and warthog can lead to injuries from horns, tusks, bites and kicks. Do not allow small children near the animals. If you (supplement) feed the animals, feed the correct food. No bread should be fed. Mealies may result in the death of certain animals. Only feed fruit or insects to bushbabies.

8 Do not go for walks after dark. There could be dangerous animals in the vicinity.

9 No loud music or rowdy behaviouris allowed.

10 Please do not use poisons to kill rats or other vermin. Animals poisoned in this way are frequently eaten by owls, genets, wild cats and even warthogs which are then, in turn, poisoned.
